Theresa Meyer was born and raised in Atchison, Kansas, just 32 short minutes south of St Joseph. Theresa grew up on her parents’ farm, running the daily chores of farm life. She remembers taking care of the bottle calves, feeding the livestock, and working with her dad on the tractor. She thought she was going to work in the agriculture business.
Theresa didn’t know that her hard-working attitude and dedication would stick with her through the years, let alone that she would use them to develop her own business.
Theresa graduated from The Academy of Mount Saint Scholastica in 1984. Just a few years later, she obtained her Associates in Legal Studies at Missouri Western State University, and continued on to acquire her BSBA in Management.
After spending 13 years in the Prosecuting Attorney’s office, she moved to Nebraska to work as a business analyst with the DHHS, before moving back to St Joseph with her husband, Louis Simental. In 2007, Theresa and Louis developed Move It With M&S, LLC.
A few years later, Theresa earned her Master’s of Business Administration. Now, as a full-time business owner, Theresa hopes to set the standard for independent moving companies by delivering customer-centric moving services.
Theresa and Louis have been together for 13 years, and are now the proud parents of a daughter who attends middle school in St Joseph. When she isn’t busy being a business owner or a parent, Theresa enjoys baking, reading, and watching documentaries.
She hit a rough patch in 2008 when she was diagnosed with endometrial cancer, and again when it returned in 2017, but she is now cancer-free and doing well.
